LEH is a place of curiosity and adventure, where enthusiastic and bright young minds are encouraged to be bold and brave in their thoughts, actions, and dreams for the future.

Pupils are given the encouragement, inspiration, and opportunity to experience new things, to take risks, and to innovate as they grow and discover more about themselves. They do this in the warmth and safety of a caring school community with mutual respect and positive relationships at its heart. We are proud to be a values-driven school, where difference is celebrated, and everyone feels like they belong.

Our curriculum is as broad as it is dynamic and is delivered alongside a varied programme of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. Our pupils have the chance to explore different interests and passions, to be courageous in their intellectual endeavours, and to bring their ideas to life while playing an active role in shaping their school. They go forward with the skills and confidence to enrich the world around them in the years that follow.

Our students achieve excellent results academically, but this is not what defines them or LEH. The best way to understand the culture and character of LEH is to see us in action. Come along to one of our open events, meet our wonderful pupils, teachers and staff and see, first hand, what makes LEH a special place to be. I’ve no doubt you’ll experience what I felt the first time I walked through our doors: that LEH is a happy, confident yet relaxed school, full of energy, determination, and hope for the future.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

Bursaries & Scholarships

We aspire to give access to an LEH education to every bright girl who is offered a place here. We provide a range of scholarships and bursaries to attract students who will make the most of everything that the School has to offer whilst contributing to the wider LEH community. The number and amount of awards can vary each year.

Bursaries are means tested, and are available to cover between 30% to 100% of fees. Bursary holders receive relief in the same percentage as their bursary award for lunches, transport, curriculum trips, uniform and iPads. If they have a 100% bursary, then 100% of these additional costs will be met.

We also offer Scholarships to outstanding students who excel academically or musically at 11+ and at 16+ we offer academic, sport, music, drama and STEM Scholarships and Exhibitions. These awards are not means tested. You can hold both a scholarship and a bursary if your family’s financial situation meets the bursary criteria.

LEH offers Scholarships and Exhibitions for pupils hoping to enter the School at the ages of entry of 11+ and 16+. There are no Scholarships awarded for entry into the Junior School. The number and size of awards in any particular year are at the discretion of the Head Mistress. A Scholarship or Exhibition is a recognition of exceptional ability and promise. It is possible to apply for a means-tested bursary alongside a scholarship award.

The bestowal of any award carries with it privilege and responsibility. Every award holder is expected to set an example to other pupils in their approach to life at school and their area of specialism in particular. Awards at 11+ and 16+ are reviewed annually. The review will consider the progress of award holders in their chosen field of expertise and whether the holder continues enthusiastically to fulfil the obligations associated with the award.

Understanding that an investment in an LEH education will have a transformative impact on a pupil’s future, LEH is committed to building a community of bright, intellectually curious and passionate students from a wide range of backgrounds, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Often, low and middle-income families feel that an independent school is financially beyond their reach. Our aim is to help families afford the LEH experience by offering applicants a financial award that makes tuition affordable, alongside a stipend for uniform, transport to and from school, books and supplies, an iPad, and school trips.
