Tring Park stands at the forefront of artistic specialist education in the UK.

Tring Park School for the Performing Arts is a boarding and day school for pupils from ages 8-19. It offers an exceptional opportunity to young people who show an outstanding talent for the performing arts, while recognising the benefits of a fine traditional academic education. Tring Park provides a unique community for talented young people, regardless of means or background, who have a passion for Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre or Commercial Music. The school nurtures creativity and aims for excellence at all times and is dedicated to the provision of a challenging and diverse learning experience within a supportive environment. The school boasts six pupils who all performed the part of Billy in the musical Billy Elliot and others who have played leads in Matilda and other West End shows. Performances take place throughout the year in Tring Park’s Markova Theatre and in London and regional venues.  Tring Park’s graduate dancers perform in Encore Dance Company who give an annual UK tour culminating in a performance at the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. More than 20 of our young dancers are chosen every year to take part in English National Ballet’s production of Nutcracker at the London Coliseum.

Former students include Lily James, Daisy Ridley, Lia Williams (who played Wallis – Duchess of Windsor in The Crown), Max Westwell and Will Bozier who play the lead Swan in a new production of Sir Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and the singer, Carly Paoli, recently nominated for a Classical Brit Award who has performed alongside Bocelli and Carreras. Joe Griffiths-Brown recently left Tring Park and now plays Man 1/Charles Lee in the hit musical Hamilton.

The Tring Park Chamber Choir ‘The Sixteen’ have recently won the much-coveted BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year 2019 competition for the second time in four years.

Over a decade ago, the school’s governors recognised that it needed to invest in facilities to keep Tring Park at the leading edge of performing arts schools for the next century. Recent alumni have benefitted from the award-winning Park Studios, which opened in 2011 to great acclaim, and transformed the life of the school. The new master plan, which consists of three main phases, aims to further enhance the school experience for future talented students, and give a larger number of them access to its training and education.

The first phase – which opened in September 2019 –contains a state-of-the-art boarding house for 70 pupils, six academic and vocational teaching spaces, a theatre workshop and other valuable pupil facilities. The final phase of this ambitious project is a 450-seat theatre which will benefit not only the school but the local community.

We are delighted that Sir Matthew Bourne has recently become a Patron of Tring Park School.
