“Welcome to Kings Oxford.
Our community is one in which individuals are recognised, respected and supported. We are ambitious, have high expectations and a very strong work ethic throughout our student and staff body.
We work together in an atmosphere of positivity to ensure each student is aware and equipped to take advantage of the opportunities available to them and that they achieve their full potential.
We want our students to be prepared for life in the 21st century. We are living in times of great change. We are seeing traditional jobs disappearing and new jobs and work opportunities appearing in unpredictable ways. We need to enable our students not only to cope with this uncertainty but to flourish. They need the resilience and wellbeing to seek their own successful path in life and to be happy. It is in preparing our students for this that we do them the best possible service.”
John Gale
Principal, Kings Oxford
Kings Oxford opened in 1986 and we are proud of over three decades of students’ success. We are part of a global education group which has pioneered an international approach to education for over 60 years.
A springboard to a new, globally connected future. We are not a traditional school. We offer an education built for the modern global world which fits entirely around the student. We offer a range of A-levels (one and two years), GCSEs and the UAL Art and Design Foundation Diploma.
We will build that curriculum around the student’s needs. We work with the student to design a learning plan that meets their personal needs and objectives, rather than expecting them to be bound by a single pre-determined approach.
A-levels at Kings Oxford are defined by a highly intensive, highly personalised structure to ensure effective and efficient learning. Ultra-small classes combine with a supportive, friendly college environment to ensure individual progress is maximised.
For those aiming for the very top UK universities, our Oxbridge preparation programme will help students to reach this goal. Our team of experienced experts support students throughout the application process, utilising their specialist knowledge of the whole process and requirements.
GCSEs at Kings Oxford offer highly personalised learning and very small classes to ensure maximum student-teacher interaction. At Kings London we offer a 1 year — year 11 program for students who have completed 10 years of schooling or those wishing to resit their GCSE year.
The University of Arts London (UAL) Art & Design Foundation at Kings will give students the knowledge, skills and understanding of creative development and practice required by leading arts universities. We offer a one-year programme starting in September and an intensive option with a January start.
It is standard for students wishing to study Art & Design at university to complete a one-year Art Foundation course after their A-levels before they can begin a degree.
The Art and Design fast track gives you the opportunity to complete both A-levels and Art Foundation in just two years.
Students will study two A-levels in one year before progressing automatically to the one-year Art and Design Foundation – an internationally recognised programme which is accredited by the UAL.
Our Art & Design programmes are delivered in the city centre, in our newly fitted-out Art School.
Oxford is an ideal location to live and study; a global centre for educational excellence with a stimulating blend of traditional and cutting-edge research and business, providing an endless range of opportunities for students’ personal, academic and experiential development and to enhance their CVs and university applications.
The main college, located in Cowley, is well-equipped and carefully designed to give a spacious contemporary feel and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor spaces are ideal for socialising, reflection and quiet study.
Every student has their own journey and ambition. We work with each student to realise that ambition through the selection of courses, close support in university applications and ensuring they are developing as a rounded individual.
Acceptance to the most selective universities requires more than just good grades. Students will need to demonstrate their understanding of the demands, skills and attributes required for the successful completion of their chosen degree. This should be evidenced though a broad and relevant range of interests and experience. At Kings we offer a complete enrichment programme where students are able to take part in a wide range of sporting activities with local clubs, join the Student Council or Debating Club, experience university lectures, complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, to name a few.
Kings’ students have recently won places at all of the UK’s top 30 ranked universities and specialist Higher Edu cation institutions, progressing to prestigious degrees in a broad range of subject areas.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to join our community and achieve your potential.
