King’s College Madrid is a coeducational day and boarding school which provides British education for children from the age of 20 months to 18 years (Pre-pre-nursery to Year 13) leading to the A level or IB Diploma programme in the Sixth Form

Since it was founded in 1969, King’s College has gained a reputation for high academic standards.

The school is located on an attractive 12-acre site in a leafy suburb, just 25 minutes’ drive from Madrid and the main airport.

King’s College is one of the very few schools in Madrid accredited by the Department for Education in the UK as “Excellent” in every category that offers a British Curriculum from 20 months to 18 years.

Currently, we are the only school in Madrid to offer both A-Level & IB Diploma programmes of study in English in the Spanish capital. This allows students to choose their path of study depending on what type of learner they grow up to be, as well as their future aspirations.

This freedom of choice, coupled with the highest quality of teaching and learning allows our students to excel across the curriculum:

  • Academic Results are among the best in Europe

  • Year 13 Graduates go on to study at some of the best universities in the world (Russell Group, the Ivy League and at Oxford and Cambridge universities)

An experienced career and university entrance advisory department is available to all pupils, and the Oxbridge preparatory group prepares students applying to Oxford and Cambridge universities.

Lifetime Success

Academic Excellence is a common theme to run through all King’s College schools.  Our pupils leave school upon completing their studies in Year 13 to go on to join the world’s best universities, including those of the UK’s Russell Group, Oxford and Cambridge universities and America’s Ivy League, as well as many other top institutions across the globe.

Our reputation is built upon the success of our pupils. We are educational experts; we know how to get the very best out of your children. Becoming a young adult at the same time as working hard to learn; these years are hugely important to your child.

King’s College challenges and supports pupils, so that they are able to achieve their very best academically and personally. We have the expertise to get them through the exams, and the experience to guide them towards their ideal university for their future.

Boarding School

An Enriching Life

The onsite residence is called “Tenbury House” and opened in September 2011. It offers a bespoke space that stimulates students academically and also provides an array of extra-curricular activities. Our diverse boarding community fosters a strong sense of camaraderie whilst promoting responsibility, independence and intercultural life-long friendships.

Nestled at the heart of the school campus, our international purpose-built boarding house offers some of the best boarding accommodation in Europe. It serves as a home-away-from-home for up to 60 pupils, between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. The school provides a nurturing and happy environment for students, in which they can grow and learn. For us, it is of utmost priority that all students are cared for at all times.

The facilities offer a ‘homely environment with shared and individual bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating and wireless internet. In addition, there is a dining room, a common room, a TV room, a study room, and a kitchen that pupils can use to make light meals and laundry.

During the evenings and weekends, the students in Tenbury House have full use of these facilities and can also take advantage of many of the school’s sports facilities and trips out of school to Madrid and its environs

Homely Environment

Our modern accommodation provides a comfortable and safe environment for our pupils, with onsite residential staff to tend to the students’ needs, 24 hours a day. There is close liaison between the boarding and teaching staff to ensure continuity of information and care at all times. Tenbury House Students also have a supervised study area, to allow pupils to concentrate on their academics while having a member of staff on hand to help if needed.
