Robert Lankester, Headmaster at Maidwell Hall, has worked in boarding schools for 30 years. Previously Housemaster and Senior Housemaster at Uppingham for 10 years, he has been Headmaster at Maidwell Hall since 2001.

Educated at Charterhouse, before reading History at Selwyn College, Cambridge, he spent seven years in the City before making the change to teaching, which he describes as “the best decision I ever made”.

Located in Northamptonshire, Maidwell Hall is predominantly a full boarding school for boys and girls aged 7-13. Robert believes strongly in the benefits that boarding brings, having seen time and again how it encourages children to be independent, live with their peers harmoniously and grow in confidence.
