Matthew Brown has been Headmaster at Epsom College in Malaysia since 2021. He attended university in Wales, having become fluent in Welsh, and went on to teach the subject that has become his lifelong passion – Physics. Matthew has held leadership positions in state, independent, and international schools, including academic, pastoral, senior leadership, and headteacher roles. Prior to leaving Wales to move to Malaysia, Matthew was Head of Learning Services for Ceredigion County Council. He led the establishment of the first all through school (ages 3-18) and managed over 40 Primary and Secondary schools. Matthew missed interacting with students thus he opted to return to a school based position. Under his leadership, Epsom College in Malaysia progress was recognised by COBIS during a recent accreditation visit, resulting in the school being awarded the prestigious Beacon School status in two key areas: Leadership and Student Well- being. Additionally, teaching and learning practices at Epsom College in Malaysia were commended, and the school was selected as one of only two COBIS training schools in Malaysia.
