Dayle Kirby is Pastoral Deputy at Whitgift and is part of the School’s Executive Team, working alongside the Headmaster and three other colleagues.

He read English Literature and Religious Studies at Cardiff University, before completing his teacher training at Westminster College. He is a keen sportsman, having coached rugby at County level in Sussex. He spent eighteen years at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham, where he taught English and Theology and Philosophy, and held the positions of Houseparent, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Assistant Head (Pastoral).

He joined Whitgift in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pastoral care, ensuring high standards of tutoring and care, leading on the school’s Diversity and Inclusion programme and also holds the role as the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. Mr Kirby is on the steering committee of the Schools’ Inclusion Alliance (SIA) which Whitgift joined in the Summer of 2020 and was founded with the aim of putting inclusion at the heart of every school.
