Mr Alexander Thomas has been Head Master of St Philip’s since January 2016 and is very proud to be part of an exceptional school. Before joining St Philip’s, he was Deputy Head at Westminster Cathedral Choir School following a career in political risk management in Russia and FSU. Educated at Stonyhurst he went on to study Russian at Durham University and Czech at Charles University in Prague. He was attracted to school mastering initially by its vocational aspect and the conviction that it would be great fun. While he still loves teaching, his favourite part of the job is the privilege of breaking good news to pupils, whether it be a scholarship success or the award of a gold star. Mr Thomas loves languages, history and all things automotive, and plays club tennis and cricket in southwest London.
