Adam Williams

Headmaster, Lord Wandsworth College
United Kingdom

After formative years growing up on the western coastal edge of Australia, Adam Williams moved to the UK over 30 years ago. He attended Bradfield College and read Geography at Durham University before starting a career in Sales and Marketing. Quickly realising that education was his true vocation he moved into the educational sector, teaching Geography and coaching sport at Bradfield College before becoming Head of Department there.  He then moved on to Oakham School, running one of the largest Geography departments in the UK and coaching several cricket and golf teams to national success. Nine years as a Housemaster followed, before a move to The Glasgow Academy as Deputy Rector for three years.

He is at his happiest on a windswept links with a 2 iron in hand or climbing mountains with his family. Scotland was a wonderful experience with his wife and three children, though the opportunity to take on the Headship at Lord Wandsworth College in September 2015 was a call back to warmer and drier climes.  Adam has a passion for Pupil Voice, Character Education, the all-round nature of schools, and in ensuring leadership for all.
