Choosing a school for your SEN child

2 March 2021, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Selecting the right school for a child with learning difficulties can seem an overwhelming task. From the biggest school to the smallest, to the ultra-selective to totally inclusive, all schools have a policy devoted to learning needs. So, if your child has an identified need, how do you work out which is right for them?

This Parent Forum will help parents understand the options and support available. We were delighted to be joined by Kingham Hill's head of learning support, and the heads of The Moat and Abingdon House schools, plus the Good School Guide's SEN expert, Charlotte Phillips.

Topics Covered:

  • Differences between a specialist SEN school and a mainstream school with learning support
  • Types of support and schools
  • How to choose the right school - what to look for?

See also our Parent Forum with Fintan O'Regan for more information about supporting children with ADHD and other behavioural needs.
