More students are applying to the US for university than ever before. This talk gives an overview of how best to prepare for the process and takes a specialised look at the role of standardised testing and the influence of sport on a student’s chances for success.


SPEAKERS:


Erica SinDirector of Tutoring, ArborBridge, Erica is a Los Angeles native who graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. With over a decade of experience in standardized testing, she now serves as Director of Tutoring at ArborBridge, a firm specializing in one-on-one, online tutoring for US standardized exams.

Erica works with families from around the world to develop customized preparation plans for students of all educational backgrounds.


James HigginsAs Director of University Admissions for Bonas MacFarlane, James has supported students to make successful applications to universities across the world.

He spearheads Bonas MacFarlane's University Preparation programme that enables students from all backgrounds to make competitive applications to Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions.

Prior to this, James worked as a teacher, Head of Department and Head and Y10 and 11, giving him a strong understanding of students' and parents' anxieties during key examinations. James qualified to teach through the prestigious Teach First programme and continues to play an active role in the charity.


Nana Owusu NyantekyiNana is a director and co-founder at RightTrack Sports, an organisation committed to supporting and mentoring secondary school student-athletes through the American university sports scholarship and admission processes. To date RightTrack students have received over £5m in scholarships in the last two years.

RightTrack works directly with schools, sports clubs and families to offering bespoke guidance through the recruiting process. In addition, RightTrack hosts summer camps in the UK for student-athletes looking to gain access to the best coaching and to meet American university coaches.

Nana has a wealth of experience in the international student journey. Moving from Ghana, he attended Eton college before being recruited to the Princeton University track and field team for his academic achievements and prowess as a top ranked junior triple jumper. During his time there he was the Ivy League champion and graduated with a degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Spanish.
