Cothill House is a family-run preparatory boarding school for 220 boys surrounded by extensive grounds in the heart of rural Oxfordshire. Coupling a fine tradition with innovation, Cothill provides a happy, secure and stimulating environment, where the boys learn very quickly how to live alongside each other, form firm friendships, and develop their talents and social skills for life. The school has a proud history of academic achievement, with boys regularly achieving scholarships and academic awards to the major public schools in their final year exams.
Boys will benefit from a whole term at the Château de Sauveterre in their penultimate year, where they will be immersed in the culture and language of the Gers in the south of France. The château operates like a normal school except all the lessons are in French! Almost 5000 Cothill boys have now spent a term at the château, and their time spent there is so often remembered as the highlight of their 5 years at Cothill.
Cothill is certainly a school where boys can be boys, whatever their age. There is tremendous breadth to a Cothill education, as the full boarding experience nurtures so many different qualities in the boys, including teamwork, good manners and generosity of spirit
