Founded in 1662, Woodbridge School is a co-educational day and boarding school, for ages 4-18, situated in over 40 acres of wooded grounds, in the heart of the stunning Suffolk countryside.
The School attracts pupils from across East Anglia, as well as internationally, and the boarding house – ‘School House’ – is home to 16 different nationalities, including British.
Woodbridge School provides an intellectual, physical and spiritual education, inside and outside of the classroom, building on the traditions of the past and adapting continually to the needs of the future. Academic results are important, and are achieved by innovative approaches to teaching and learning; balanced with excellent co-curricular provision, exceptional pastoral care, and a particular emphasis on the personal development of its students.
At Woodbridge, the primary aim is to discover and nurture each student’s talent, so that they can develop to be the best version of themselves. A combined love of learning inspires both teachers and students; where students experience success, and have the skills and confidence to go forward, ready and able to make their mark in a fast, ever-changing and exciting world.
Woodbridge is also committed to developing key personal skills, which emerge through high-quality teaching and learning; resilience, ability to collaborate, and problem-solving will equip students for the rigours of university life, and beyond. Students are actively encouraged to participate and flourish through their involvement in the School’s wide-ranging co-curricular provision, including the arts, music, drama, Combined Cadet Force, sports and more.
Boarding at Woodbridge is an educational experience that provides a foundation for life. School House is a traditional, co-education boarding house and offers a boarding community unlike any other school. Boarders experience a true family atmosphere and in the House, which very much represents their extended home.
There is a real sense of belonging at Woodbridge, where every pupil is known and valued. Pupils who have a desire to explore new talents and passions, and to experience new opportunities, will fit in well at Woodbridge, where curiosity and creativity are celebrated!
With an enviable reputation, outstanding results and exceptional pastoral care, Woodbridge is much more than a school: it is a discovery of self and all we can achieve.
