West Hill Park School is a day and weekly boarding prep school for children aged 3-13yrs, located in 28 acres of beautiful grounds in Titchfield near Fareham, Hampshire. We pride ourselves on offering a unique education journey that makes full use of our wonderful rural location, proximity to the coast and London. We offer a curriculum with teaching that prepares children for their next school and adult life where flexibility, the ability to reflect, lead, and collaborate in project based learning will be key.

To achieve these goals, we have moved from Common Entrance examinations to the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate which not only focuses on knowledge acquisition but also learning skills.  We provide an engaging and fun curriculum that motivates children to take personal responsibility for their learning, following their natural curiosity. We nurture our pupils’ ambition, resilience and above all kindness, to create leaders, who positively self-reflect and enjoy working as part of a team for a common goal.

Our boarding house is at the heart of the school, both physically and as part of our caring community.  It is truly a home away from home, where thoughtfulness, kindness, respect for others and their property is highly valued, not only by staff but most importantly by the peer group.  Our weekly and flexi boarding offering enables children to board as much or as little as they like, and still always be available for family time at home for the weekend.  We often find pupils starting off with a few days and quickly moving to the weekly boarding option where they can enjoy the extensive activities laid on for them each day.

At West Hill we love the outdoors, and it plays a full part in both our academic work and co-curricular activities.  Forest and Beach schools are a key part of each term’s learning, as is our Outdoor Challenge Award, where the children train throughout the year in preparation for their Outdoor Challenge Expedition. On this they work outside their comfort zone, building their determination, perseverance and self-reliance.

In our beautiful grounds and superb facilities we offer sport for all with a range of fifteen on offer at all levels, where along with our activity programme each child can find an area in which they can excel. We are very proud of our frequent success in national tournaments and the selection of our pupils for district, county and national sporting pathways.  More importantly, West Hill children love any opportunity to get out onto the fields to kick or hit a ball, run and jump.  There is swimming every week in our 25m indoor pool and we even have our own horse stables for riding!

The school offers numerous opportunities to perform, with 4 stage productions, open mic, jazz nights and lunchtime concerts the highlights of each term.  There is the opportunity to act, sing, play and dance for audiences large and small for all levels.  There is a weekly music lesson for all, and we teach over 200 private lessons each week, giving the opportunity to excel in their instrument of choice.

It is no wonder we achieve high value added to our pupils’ academic achievement, where, though we are a non-selective school, they display consistently top quartile academic performance nationally.  When our children take their next step to senior school, their new head teachers consistently remark on the maturity and preparedness of West Hill Park pupils and this is reflected in more than half of our Year 8 pupils being awarded scholarships & awards to their first choice school.
