St Philip's is a prep school for boys aged 4 to 13, located in South Kensington.
In an independent school market that is increasingly dominated by large commercial organisations, we are one of the few remaining London prep schools to operate as an independent charitable trust. Rather than chasing a return for investors, we are blessed to be able to make every decision work only towards the provision of a first-class education for the benefit of our pupils.
We understand boys and we want to give them the room they need to play, stretch, and grow. We have 30 acres of well-maintained fields by the River Thames for lots of football, rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis, and athletics, and we keep the atmosphere upbeat and light-hearted wherever we possibly can. This allows us to be a real academic dynamo; knowing the boys are happy and feel secure, we can be ambitious in the classroom and are able challenge them to truly explore their capabilities. The boys do well and enjoy a proper childhood along the way.
The results are evidence there is method to this kindness; almost half of the leavers since 2019 have moved onto Eton, Harrow, City of London, or Dulwich.
