StGIS is nestled in the heart of the Austrian alps and at the shore of the Wolfgangsee. If you’re familiar with the film ‘The Sound Of Music’, St Gilgen and the Wolfgangsee are featured in the opening scenes. We are just a short drive from the cultural hotspots of Salzburg and Halstatt, and just a few hours from Vienna and Munich.

For example, a state-approved mountain guide leads hiking expeditions and horse riding lessons are held in a first class stable. Students can also enjoy golf lessons and seasonal sports such as rowing, water skiing, canyoning, skiing, ice skating and climbing. StGIS also has a strong foundation in the Arts and all students have access to professional Art, Theatre, Dance and Music lessons.
