Established in 1891 and set in the beautiful English countryside of Bruton, Somerset, Sexey’s School is a Church of England, co-educational state boarding and day school for ages 11-18.

As one of just 38 state boarding schools in the country, it provides a cost effective, high quality education, with excellent pastoral care and extracurricular activities including swimming (in the in-school swimming pool).

As a relatively small school, Sexey’s offers a supportive, caring, family atmosphere where teachers know their students’ strengths and build differentiated lessons to help them to grow and learn personally. In August 2018,Sexey’s celebrated yet another year of excellent examination results at both GCSE and A Level, in which its students performed the best for a state school in the whole of Somerset. It continues to celebrate its students’ successes in music, art and drama. Sport is of a high standard, with many students being chosen to play for their regional or national teams.

Bruton is renowned for its beauty and is frequently listed in the national newspapers’ top 10 lists of places to visit in the UK. It is home to the international art gallery, Hauser & Wirth, and Sexey’s students enjoy many of their lessons there, meeting the artists and practising their own talents. Bruton is situated close to Bristol and Bath, and only a couple of hours’ direct train travel to London. Travel is arranged by the school for students from the city to travel together on the train at the end of term, should their parents wish.
