Situated on the edge of one of the most attractive small market towns in the country, Marlborough College is a flourishing and fully coeducational, independent boarding school for pupils aged between thirteen and eighteen. It is a remarkable place in an evocative and unique setting, and it enjoys the advantages of being within easy reach of London and indeed many other parts of the country.

Marlborough has an outstanding academic tradition and its pupils achieve consistently excellent public examination results and top flight university places . It is the largest co-educational full boarding school in the country and its scale enables it to provide a great range of activities throughout the week. The co-curricular provision is outstanding and all pupils become involved in a wide range of sporting and cultural activities. Its sixteen boarding houses provide every pupil with opportunities to thrive in a supportive and inclusive community. The quality of the education received inside the classroom is matched by the pastoral care given by this house system, which emphasises the importance of  independence and interdependence.  Although the school is large, it meets together frequently in its splendid buildings, which are arranged around a four thousand year old Neolithic Mound, reputedly the burial place of Merlin.

The school promotes great breadth in learning and the small size of the classes ensures that each child is well cared for. The house and tutor systems and the great range of learned societies in the school make sure that the intellectual development of each child is nurtured, and the Futures Department ensures that future choices are planned carefully. Registrations can be taken five years before entry from September of Year 4 and applicants are invited to visit on several occasions before enrolling for Assessment. The deadline for enrolment is in October of Year 6, although after this date some place may be available through the Master’s List.

Marlborough is a happy, flourishing, vibrant community where friendships for life are made. It places great emphasis on its values of community, ambition, service and initiative.. It encourages its pupils to see the world through the eyes of others and is keen for them to learn about and experience the international world.  The College is committed to extending access and fee assistance (means tested) is available. It has strong relationships with schools around the globe, particularly with Marlborough College Malaysia, which is unique in that it is not a franchise but a genuine extension of Marlborough in Wiltshire.
