Finborough School is a co-educational day and boarding school set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, educating children from Nursery through to Sixth Form. With a close-knit, family atmosphere and a strong emphasis on knowing every pupil as an individual, Finborough combines academic ambition with exceptional pastoral care and a distinctive focus on character development.
At the heart of the school is the belief that education should provide the “best preparation for life.” Finborough encourages every pupil to become the best version of themselves, developing confidence, resilience, independence and a positive approach to learning alongside strong academic foundations. Its distinctive ‘Learnability’ framework and whole-school approach to the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People help pupils understand how they learn, take responsibility for their choices and develop the personal qualities they will need well beyond school.
The curriculum is broad and balanced, complemented by extensive opportunities in sport, performing and creative arts, STEAM and outdoor activities. Prep pupils benefit from access to specialist Senior School facilities and teaching, while older students are supported towards a range of destinations including leading universities, vocational training and degree apprenticeships.
Boarding is available from Year 3 through to Sixth Form, with full, weekly and flexible options. The boarding community has a deliberately homely feel, bringing together pupils from the UK and overseas, with boarders cared for within one close community and supported by an experienced pastoral team. The boarding accommodation was also refurbished for the 2025/26 academic year.
