Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) has been officially recognised as an accredited British School Overseas by the UK government, solidifying its position as a provider of an exceptional world-class education.

Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) has been officially recognised as an accredited British School Overseas by the UK government, solidifying its position as a provider of an exceptional world-class education.

The BSO accreditation is widely recognised as the most prestigious and respected benchmark in international education and means that Marlborough College Malaysia provides a high-quality British education similar to that found in leading independent schools in England. Even more remarkable is that the College is the only school in Malaysia catering to pupils aged 3-18 with BSO recognition.

To attain the official BSO recognition from the UK's Department of Education, the College underwent a rigorous inspection process during the summer term of 2024 which involved a team of inspectors visiting the school to observe learning and teaching, review the curriculum, evaluate pupil outcomes and assess the school’s leadership and management.

The College successfully met all the BSO Standards, with the inspection report stating that, “Teachers throughout the school demonstrate a strong understanding of their subject and pupils make good progress in all areas of learning” and that  “there are many opportunities for pupils to express their views, helping to develop the pupils’ sense of self-confidence.”

This new accreditation means the qualifications and education offered at MCM are now recognised globally as meeting the highest standards of international education.

Second Master of the College, Mrs Rachel Eaton-Jones, who oversaw the inspection said, "We are delighted to achieve this accreditation. It is a testament to very robust procedures but even more inspiringly, the strength of relationships within the College, encouraging our pupils to be the best they can. We feel that the BSO recognises the rigour and aspiration that enables all our pupils and staff to have the space to flourish. An exciting step on our journey into the next ten years."
