The Royal School delivers an ambitious, holistic education. This is achieved by the provision of ‘an extensive, exciting curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom’ which was graded ‘Excellent’ in our most recent ISI Inspection (2015). Our sites are spacious and the outdoors is frequently used for learning. The curriculum is broad and balanced, with a choice of 24 subjects at A Level and 20 at GCSE. In 2017, 42.5 per cent of A Level grades were at A*/A and 71 per cent of students achieved their first choice of university. This from a school which is mixed ability in its entry. The delivery of a wide and varied curriculum is mirrored at The Royal Junior School, which includes an interesting array of educational trips and an extensive extra-curricular programme. We are well-known for our pastoral care, promoting relationships based on care, trust and respect which encourage a strong work ethic and positive self-esteem.
