With generations of expertise, Aysgarth has a long history of providing an exceptional education for boys. We have unrivalled success in placing boys in top senior schools. Our Old Aysgarthian (OA) community is strongly represented at all the top schools including Harrow (currently 11 OAs), Eton (currently 9 OAs), Rugby (currently 10 OAs) Shrewsbury (currently 34 OAs), Uppingham (currently 25 OAs) and Oundle (currently 13 OAs) while ensuring that every boy finds the right school for them.

Aysgarth was recognised as Prep School of the Year by Tatler in 2019/20. The School has a renowned history and is the only boys boarding prep school in the north of Britain, with pupils travelling from many parts of the UK, many from London. We offer an escorted train service from and to London for every exeat and half term. With over 130 boys (aged 8 to 13 years) in the Prep School and 78 children (aged 3 to 8 years) in the coeducational Pre-Prep, Aysgarth is in extremely good health and our boarding numbers ensure your son will be in good company. 

We have a bustling boarding community with 90% boarders - over 50% are full boarders, 30% are weekly boarders leaving just for Saturday evening and we have a number of flexi-boarders in the younger years. Aysgarth is a fantastic option for London-based families.
