Simon McNaught

Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle
United Kingdom
Simon began his teaching career in Kingston, Jamaica, teaching French at a girls’ secondary school straight out of university. After two wonderful years, and having survived the baptism of fire and with the teaching bug, he returned to the UK to complete his PGCE.

He began his UK career in the New Forest as a teacher of French and German, before moving to London where he has spent the last twenty years, working mainly in inner London state schools, latterly Vice Principal of an academy in Hackney.

The last five years have been spent at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in South Kensington, where he is Deputy Head and Head of the British Section. One of the largest schools in the country, the Lycée offers French, English and bi-lingual curricula through which seven other languages are on offer. Simon feels very at home there.
