Shaun Fenton has led some of the UK’s leading independent and state schools. He has a strong belief in the power of education to open doors of opportunity and the conviction that young people must be supported with the very best pastoral care.
Prior to joining Reigate Grammar School (RGS) Shaun led Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham and Sir John Lawes School, Hertfordshire. Multi-award winning RGS (TES, ISP, SOMO, Private Education Awards, Leading Parent Partnership, School House and Muddy Stilettos) for wellbeing, pastoral care, social mobility, community engagement and outreach and creativity RGS was judged to be “Excellent in all areas†by ISI in 2023.
Educated at Oxford, Shaun worked in the commercial world before gaining the degree of Master of Education in School Leadership and also holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship.
A Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, Shaun has been on the board of education charity and examination board AQA; a National Leader of Education; a member of the UCAS Service Advisory Group; and is an ISI Inspector. Shaun has been Chair of HMC, is a trustee of the Institute of Development Professionals in Education and sits on the advisory board of The Sleep Charity.
Shaun was also honoured to be awarded OBE in for Services to Education.
