Olivia Buchanan is in her fourth year as Headmistress at Falcons Prep Richmond, where she also continues to teach her passion, Geography. Olivia began her interest in Humanities by studying Geography at St Andrews University. During her studies, she volunteered at a local Primary School, where she fell in love with teaching. From there, she went on to continue her studies at Cambridge University, completing a Secondary PGCE in Secondary Geography. Her first Geography Teacher role was at Cottenham Village College, she then achieved a Masters with Distinction at Cambridge University. Olivia moved to London to take up the role of Head of Geography at The Hall School in Wimbledon, where she was promoted to Deputy Head of Learning and Teaching. Following six successful years at The Hall School, Olivia then began her first Headship at Falcons Prep Richmond, where she continues to lead today. Olivia hosts her own ‘Lead Your Learning’ Podcast and Instagram Channel focussed around her interests on ‘how we learn’ and neuroscience.
