James Weatherby
Fettes College
United Kingdom
James feels very privileged to be the Senior Deputy Head of such an amazing school as Fettes College. His key responsibilities extend to the day-to-day running of the school, deputising for the Head in her absence, facilitating the varied range of the school’s excellent co-curricular programme, supervising the running of chapel, co-ordinating whole school events and upholding standards and good behaviour. James works closely with the Head and Deputy Heads to support and manage teaching staff, with staff welfare being a strong focus.
Previous to taking on this position, James was Houseparent of Carrington for twelve wonderful years and also counted himself lucky to remain part of the Mathematics Department, as teaching sits at the core of all that Fettes does. Outside Fettes, he is a Governor of Craigclowan School & Nursery.
Together with his wife Andrea, James likes to moonlight as a chauffeur, tutor, cook, go-fer, financier and general lifestyle facilitator for two teenage sons. His homeland of Australia remains a key part of his life and James remains ever-prepared to don the baggy green cricket cap should the selection call ever come!
