James Weatherby became Registrar for Fettes College in August 2025, a school that offers the dual pathway of both A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) in Sixth Form. James joined Fettes in September 2007 during which time he has been an integral part of the Mathematics Department, successfully led a boys’ boarding House – Carrington – as Houseparent for 12 years and latterly spent the last 4 years as Senior Deputy Head, before bringing the wealth of his experience together to become Registrar. All of his experience and knowledge of Fettes ensures that every family he speaks with feels supported from their first interaction with the Admissions Team through to their child's first day at school, creating a welcoming environment and showcasing the unique qualities of our Fettes community.

Together with his wife Andrea, James likes to moonlight as a chauffeur, tutor, cook, go-fer, financier and general lifestyle facilitator for two sons at university. His homeland of Australia remains a key part of his life and James remains ever-prepared to don the baggy green cricket cap should the selection call ever come!
