James Kimber is Head of Geography at Seaford College, he developed a keen interest in the wider world growing up with his father, a geologist. James read Physical Geography at Exeter University and then joined the financial sector before going into teaching, a career he loves. James has extensive experience in state, grammar and private schools.

James chose to work at Seaford because of the warm and friendly community, the ‘Love to learn’ ethos and its location in over 450 acres of listed parkland at the foot of the South Downs National Park. In addition to his Head of Geography role James heads up our Sixth Form Eco Committee and supports many of the environmental projects throughout the school. These initiatives led to Seaford College winning the Independent Schools of the Year 2022 - The Green Award for Environmental Achievement in October.

James is passionate about rugby and is a qualified England Rugby Coach, has the England Referees Award. He is a Referee for the Sussex Society of Rugby Football Union Referees.

He lives in West Sussex with his partner Becky and son and they all enjoy travel. His most recent family trip was fossil hunting at the Jurassic Coast over October half term.
