James Dahl was appointed 15th Master of Wellington College in September 2019, having been Second Master Elect, Deputy Head Pastoral and, before that, Director of Admissions.
 
Educated at RGS Newcastle and Haileybury, James read Classics at Jesus College, Cambridge before starting his career at Brighton College (Head of Classics and Sixth Form) and then Repton (Housemaster). James is a Grade 8 flautist, pianist and percussionist, and represented Cambridge at second team and Under 21 level in cricket and rugby. He is a Governor at two prep schools, a trustee at the UK’s largest examination board, as well as the Old Wellingtonian Charitable Trust and the Haileybury Society.
