Iona Hutchinson has been Director of Admissions at Charterhouse since 2016. She has led the admissions strategy through a transformative period, as the School transitioned to full coeducation and continues to evolve as a progressive and forward thinking School.

Educated at West Heath School in Kent, Iona brings a deep appreciation for the value of a well-rounded boarding education. She is committed to helping families find the right fit and ensuring every pupil is positioned to thrive, academically, socially, and personally.  Her approach centres on building strong relationships with families and feeder schools to identify pupils with enthusiasm and curiosity to flourish in our dynamic environment.

Before joining Charterhouse, Iona was Director of Admissions at Haileybury College, where she oversaw admissions during a time of significant growth and international outreach. Iona read Music at Anglia Ruskin University and began her career in the performing arts, holding leadership roles in opera and musical theatre. This creative foundation informs her belief in holistic education and her appreciation for the arts.
