Huw Thomas
Huw Thomas has over a decade of experience working in independent boarding schools. He is Deputy Head (Pastoral) at Dauntsey’s School, Wiltshire, a role he assumed in September 2024. Prior to this, he was Housemaster of Apsley House at St Edward’s School, Oxford. Huw began his career at St Edward’s in 2015, after earning a PGCE and a Master’s in Education from Wolfson College, Cambridge.
During his time at St Edward’s, he served in numerous leadership and academic posts, including Resident Tutor, Assistant Housemaster, Head of Higher Education, and Head of History before he became a Housemaster. Huw also holds a Master’s in Medieval History from Mansfield College, Oxford, which he completed between 2020-22. He has also always enjoyed contributing to co-curricular life, namely rugby and athletics, which he continues to coach at Dauntsey’s.
