Mr Henry Price MA (Oxon) became Headmaster of Oakham School in September 2019, having previously been Headmaster for five years at Wellington School in Somerset.
Henry studied Classics at New College, Oxford University, before spending two years as an Oxford Classics Fellow at Sydney Grammar School. On his return to the UK, Henry taught Classics at Sherborne School, where he also coached the 2nd XI cricket and 1st XV rugby teams. He then moved to Rugby School, where he was Head of Classics, a Housemaster and latterly Senior Housemaster.
Having spent 25 years in the boarding sector, Henry is a firm believer in the value of boarding and is passionate about making school years precious, joyful and transformative for each individual child. Henry is also a strong advocate of co-education, recognising the importance of thoroughly preparing pupils to thrive beyond their time at Oakham School and contribute effectively to the communities in which they live and work.
Henry is married to Mary, and they have four school-aged children.
