Heather taught in state maintained primary schools in London for five years then moved to Thomas’s London Day School in Battersea, where she worked for nine years, ultimately becoming Senior Mistress.

Further roles include Deputy Head of a prep school in Brighton and then a Prep school Head in three different schools over a period of 20 years.

Heather has been an ISI Inspector for 25 years and is currently governor of a state maintained secondary school, having formerly been a governor of a local primary school (safeguarding) for five years and of a local prep school (Chair of Education Committee) for five years.

Heather retired from Headship in 2023 and is currently Deputy Director of Admissions at Lancing College.
