Dr Chris Stevens has been Headmaster of Bradfield College since 2015. He is a forward-looking educationalist with experience across a wide age range. A scholar of Tonbridge School, Chris read Modern Languages at Cambridge, including a year teaching in Italy, before completing a DPhil in Italian literature at Oxford, where he was also a College Lecturer.

He began his teaching career in prep schools, working as a French-teaching GAP student at Brambletye and running a French study centre for Ashdown House. He worked for 14 years at Uppingham School, where he was a Housemaster and Master-in-charge of cricket, before joining Marlborough as Second Master.

Chris is a keen sportsman and loves reading, galleries and the performing arts. Currently Chair of the Rugby Group, he is also a Governor of Theale Green Academy and Twyford School, and a Trustee of the Bradfield Youth Club in Peckham.
