Chris Wolsey has been Head of Ibstock Place since January 2021, before which he was its Academic Deputy. A historian by training, he has taught for over twenty years in both independent day schools and a maintained single-sex grammar school. He has also served as a governor of an outstanding inner-city 11-16 comprehensive school. Convinced that schools occupy a uniquely powerful moral space in society, he advocates for a version of education which attaches real value to the voice of young people and which measures its success on their ability to use it for the common good; he believes in the transformative power of school partnerships. Chris has a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Buckingham.
