Malvern College upholds the best of tradition but is forward-looking and ambitious in its expectations for the future. We are an outstanding co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 13 to 18, focussed on encouraging academic excellence and personal growth. 77% of our pupils board and weekends are busy. Our House system engenders a sense of community and collective purpose and all pupils eat in their own Houses. This fosters the family feel for which Malvern is renowned. Our focus is on providing outstanding pastoral care through the House system.
Academic results are excellent and, through lessons and the extensive co-curriculum, pupils acquire the personal qualities necessary for life beyond school. Emphasis on individual achievement is balanced by an understanding of the responsibility each has for others.
One of the first schools to offer the International Baccalaureate in the UK, Malvern College has run the IB alongside A levels in the Sixth Form for 26 years. Approximately 50% of pupils choose each course of study. The vast majority of pupils secure places at Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, with a high number going to Ivy League and top universities in the US and Canada.
Ideally placed in an inspirational setting on the lower slopes of the Malvern Hills, and near to the town of Great Malvern, Malvern is close to major transport links and to Birmingham Airport. Our facilities are superb and we have recently refurbished the College theatre to include the latest theatre technology. We also have a state-of-the-art science centre and extensive sports facilities.
Malvern is proud of its innovative spirit and developing facilities, with a teaching staff that enables pupils to flourish and exceed even their own expectations. This is the very best environment in which to learn.
