Founded in 1837, Windlesham was one of the first prep schools in the UK and the first to go co-ed. Windlesham children have that rare combination of excellence, happiness and aplomb. We believe that children only truly achieve if they are happy in their environment. This permeates the school with a big emphasis on pastoral care, making sure the school becomes a genuine ‘home from home’.

The range of subjects, sports and music on offer is almost limitless. If you want your child
to study Greek, Mandarin, play the piccolo or learn polo - no problem! Windlesham produces a consistent stream of high-flyers, all-rounders and scholars. This year was a record-breaking one for Windlesham with the highest ever number of scholarships to senior schools and best ever Common Entrance results.

Windlesham leavers went on to over 35 different schools such as Brighton College, Oundle, Marlborough, Eton, Lancing, Bryanston, Charterhouse etc.

Pupils are encouraged to try anything, so they can learn what they are good at. Budding digital entrepreneurs can stay busy in the new ICT centre, with its rows of iMacs, using the ‘Minecraft’ platform and robotics, book-worms are treated to visits from famous children’s authors and an endlessly stocked library. The school has fantastic sports facilities including a floodlit astro and a new state-of-the-art sports centre including a 6-lane pool.

Windlesham offers day, full and part-time boarding options with wrap around care to help its busy parents. There is also a daily morning and evening local school bus provision as well as a London bus service for long weekends and a Monday morning return. Windlesham sits in 65 acres of the glorious South Downs where the woods have tree houses and a pizza oven. There is an adventure playground and a busy week-end programme with over 250 extra-curricular activities to choose from! No wonder that one father described Windlesham as ‘the school you dream you went to yourself’.
