Sevenoaks (founded in 1432) is a co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 11 to 18. Just half an hour from Central London and Gatwick International Airport, our superb 100-acre campus is set in the Kent countryside.

Sevenoaks is one of the world’s leading IB schools, having taught the International Baccalaureate for over 40 years. For nearly 20 years, all sixth-formers have taken the full IB diploma. The results are testament to the school’s experience and commitment to the IB programme: over the last three years, the average grade across our 210+ graduates has been ten points above the world average.

Sevenoaks is among the top schools in the UK. It has received the distinction of being named The Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the Year, in 2018 and 2008, and the UK Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) awarded Sevenoaks the rare accolade of ‘Exceptional’ for its pupils’ achievement. Virtually every student goes on to one of the best universities in the UK, US and across the world, with on average 40 students accepted at Oxford or Cambridge annually, and around 90 per cent gaining entry to their first choice university.

Academic excellence is delivered by a broad, balanced programme of study and exciting teaching. Strengthened by wise pastoral care, Sevenoaks students work hard to satisfy their natural curiosity and extend themselves far above and beyond the core curriculum.

Sevenoaks students have access to world class-facilities for co-curricular pursuits, including sport, music, drama and art, at least 70 clubs and societies, a wide range of study trips and exchanges, and a well-established community service programme.

Recent campus developments include a new boarding house for boys, opening in 2019, a state-of-the art science and technology centre uniting the four core fields of science, an innovative new Sixth Form centre, and an award-winning performing arts centre.

With seven distinctive and comfortable boarding houses, our boarding community is fun, friendly and busy. Our students hugely enjoy their years of boarding at Sevenoaks.

‘Tough for any university not to be an anti-climax after Sevenoaks.’ Good Schools Guide.
