Kensington Wade is the first Prep School in the United Kingdom to offer a dual-language English-Chinese education from ages 3–11.

The school was founded on the idea that a progressive educational model can be combined with Mandarin immersion to create a vibrant, innovative school where children will thrive.

Leading the Future of Education

Kensington Wade provides children with a double-first – a first-class prep school education coupled with the first bilingual experience – a life-changing opportunity to engage with and succeed in an interconnected 21st century world.

Promoting the best of two education systems

Kensington Wade combines the rigorous Chinese approach to teaching and learning with the warmth, vibrancy and richness of a British prep school education. This is delivered within a nurturing environment where children learn to live and work together with respect and tolerance.

Integrating language and content

An increasing number of English schools are starting to offer a modest amount of Chinese language teaching but given the nature of the Chinese language and the demands of the existing curriculum, the time and energy devoted to learning Chinese is insufficient to learn both the language and the culture properly. The most effective way to learn a new language is to absorb it as naturally as the first. This can only be done where the languages are given as much equal exposure as possible.

Giving Children an Advantage

In addition to providing an excellent academic start in life, Kensington Wade gives children three extra advantages:

  • fluency in Mandarin Chinese

  • a bilingual mindset

  • the ability to transfer comfortably between two cultures
