Francis Holland Regent’s Park, balances academic rigour with outstanding pastoral care, offering a truly holistic education within a warm, happy community. We value compassion, knowledge, perseverance and spirit, focusing on a “schooling for life” approach to the curriculum which equips every pupil with the skills required to excel in an ever-changing world. Our unique sense of community and inclusivity comes from the belief that every girl should be visible and celebrated for her strengths, supported by dedicated, inspirational and passionate staff who never cease to go above and beyond.
The School is one of the leading girls’ independent schools in London, reported as ‘Excellent’ in its March 2022 Educational Quality ISI Inspection Report. Here at Francis Holland Regent’s Park, your daughter will learn to appreciate the culture and diversity of contemporary London, whilst also feeling secure that her school has a tradition of excellence which stretches back almost 150 years. The location and surroundings of the school, its proximity to Regent’s Park and its links to Russell Group, European and US universities, as well as top Drama and Art Schools, all contribute to a sense of aspiration and achievement. We recently opened our Sixth Form Centre, Linhope House, which combines an elegant, Georgian exterior and traditional features, such as The Reading Room, with a state-of-the-art interior including a Think Lab and collaborative learning and study spaces, providing the perfect transition between school and higher education.
It is woven into the fabric of FHRP that girls should leave not only with outstanding examination results, but also with the self-confidence, adaptability and independence necessary to thrive in the modern, international world. Our innovative enrichment programmes, such as our pioneering Hale Lecture series, will enhance your daughter’s learning, introducing her to inspirational female leaders across different sectors and careers.
A strong sense of community is derived from a much-loved House system and numerous House events such as the MFL Eurovision Song Contest, the Mini Marathon on Regent’s Park, the Inter-House Spaghetti and Marshmallow Architecture Challenge and, of course, Sports Day! This is enhanced by a strong outreach programme, supporting local charities alongside its strong partnerships with local schools in London and the Rainbow Centre in Sri Lanka. Volunteering in the local community is part of the core principles of FHRP life, particularly in the Sixth Form where pupils are encouraged to seek their own placements and develop their own strengths and interests (for example volunteering in homework clubs in local libraries, with local schools such as Swiss Cottage Specialist School or mosaic making with elderly members of the local community).
With regards to clubs and societies, co-curricular sports, drama and music, it is safe to say that your daughter will never be bored at FHRP. The school has its own on-site swimming pool and gym, and girls partake in a vast variety of sports on offer at Regent’s Park, right on our doorstep, both for leisure and performance level. Our main building houses state-of-the-art art, drama and music facilities, and there are around three major plays/ musicals and twelve concerts per year.
Academic, music and art scholarships are available at 11+ and academic, music, art and sport scholarships are available at 16+. Bursaries up to 100% of fees are available. Please contact our Admissions Registrar, Mrs Sarah Goldberg, at registrar@fhs-nw1.org.uk, to find out more.
