Elstree School is an award-winning day and boarding school for children aged 3-13.  Located in 150 acres of rural Berkshire countryside, less than 10 miles from Newbury and Reading and an hour west of London, Elstree offers a friendly and purposeful environment where children have the time and space to be nurtured and inspired.

Elstree is a school with high academic, creative, and sporting achievements (57 Scholarships awarded in five years).  While success is celebrated at Elstree and children go to the leading Senior Schools, we recognise that being compassionate and tolerant of others is equally important. Through enrichment programmes and an outstanding variety of extra curriculum activities, Elstree provides an environment where children can develop the skills necessary to thrive in today’s world.

Elstree is large enough to accommodate two state of the art Science laboratories, modern Music School, a recently refurbished performance space, full size all-weather pitch, forest for outdoor learning and a lake for kayaking, yet with around 260 pupils, is small enough to be personal and family-focused.  Class sizes are small (average 13 per class), so there’s time for one-on-one attention and individual support. Elstree prides itself on the personal care that each child receives.

In the school’s last ISI Inspection Report it said: “Elstree School is highly successful in meeting its aim of providing a first class all-round education, while embedding the values of hard work, kindness to others and making the most of opportunities.  This is thanks to an excellent curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities and to excellent teaching, which inspires and motivates pupils to want to learn.”

Buses run daily from Hungerford, Brightwalton, West Reading and Basingstoke, and the school day can be extended with after school care provision.

Elstree’s next open morning is on Saturday 26th February 2022 between 10am and 12 noon. Click here to book your visit.
