A Modern Connected School

A traditional heart. A modern mind. Founded in 1867, we’ve always done things differently at Eastbourne College. We’re proud of our heritage, but always looking forward. Progressive and innovative. Empowering our pupils to question the answers and find their own path in life. Set in idyllic coastal surroundings, this is a place that truly makes a lasting impression.

The College's learning environment is second to none thanks to its £33 million Project 150 redevelopment, an outstanding, supportive house system and a timetable which optimises educational contact time, provides guided optional Saturday morning enrichment sessions and promotes a busy calendar of competitive sport and an inclusive social life.

The College’s holistic approach to learning nurtures success in and out of the classroom. It consistently sits in the top 4% nationally for academic ‘value added’ and, this year, our pupils achieved over 91% A*-C grades at GCSE and over 94% A*-C grades at A Level while also achieving across the board on the sports field, on the stage and in the performing and creative arts arenas. Consequently, our pupils access top courses at leading universities at home and abroad.

Our ‘healthy learning and extra-mile’ approach to pastoral care are the guiding principles that underpin an Eastbourne College education.

There are not many top independent schools in Britain where you can take a six-minute stroll and find yourself on the doorstep of a national park, an international tennis venue, a county cricket ground, two challenging golf courses, award-winning beaches, theatres, a modern art gallery, a brand new shopping centre (with cinema) and a mainline station to London (85 minutes), London Gatwick Airport (55 minutes) and Ashford International (direct trains to Paris). Come and see us.

St Andrew’s Prep forms part of the Eastbourne College Charity and offers an outstanding prep school education for children from 9 months to 13 years.
