If you’re looking for a school that will offer your child a warm welcome, put them at ease and a place they can feel is a home away from home, then Dallam is waiting to hear from you.  Dallam has a long boarding history and an experienced and caring boarding team.  We have a house system at the boarding house. Being part of a house team helps our boarders settle in quickly and make friends.  Our house teams are named after beautiful lakes in the Lake District National Park close to Dallam.  Our enviable location, surrounded by mountains, lakes and the coastline, provides boarders with stunning countryside in which to enjoy the fresh air and outdoors in many ways - horse-riding, water sports and hill-walking are just a few examples.

We offer a fantastic boarding experience for your child from only £12,404 per year, which includes 24/7 pastoral care and laundry services.  Sibling and forces discounts are available.  Almost half of applications to board with us come from recommendations.*

At Dallam, your child will start the day with a hearty breakfast and then be transported or walk the short distance to school.  Our boarders like the boarding house being separate from school as it gives a feeling of going home at the end of the school day.

We provide nutritious and varied meals at school complimented with evening and weekend meals taken at the boarding house.  Our houseparents and students all sit together as a big family for meals.  See our website for example menus.

As well as the great outdoors to enjoy their spare time in, your child will benefit from great indoor and outdoor sports facilities at both boarding and school, as well as dedicated junior and senior common rooms with sofas, television, movies, games consoles, books, table-tennis and a pool table – everything teenagers need to relax with their friends. 

We encourage Dallam students to participate in the wealth of lunchtime and after-school clubs at school.  There are a huge variety of clubs on offer, such as: clubs for those who love to lose themselves within the pages of a book; a raft of music clubs for a variety of tastes including choir, rock and folk; and the Sustainable Dallam Action Club, for students wanting to help make Dallam School and Sixth Form a more sustainable community.

Back at the boarding house after school, we support students during the dedicated prep time and they have lots of free time to enjoy organised activities like house competitions, trips or just simply enjoy being with their boarding friends, playing football on the lawns or basketball games in the sports hall, to name but a few of the activities.

At Dallam, we aim to develop the right skills and our school values in your child to help them become a young adult to be proud of, who can succeed in whichever path they take in life.  Your child will leave Dallam confident, compassionate and ready for independent living and university.  Our Sixth Form and Boarding Leadership Team provide a greater emphasis on developing leadership skills in our students.
