Charterhouse Square School has a character and ethos all of its own.
We are known for our academic success – and that is a source of great pride to us – but our focus is on creating a safe, nurturing environment that makes this success possible.
Our curriculum ensures that every class operates a year ahead of the expected level for their age group, and year after year, we are proud to see our children secure places at some of the most prestigious schools in the Capital, with many winning scholarships and exhibitions. This is a testament not only to the excellent preparation that we provide – for both examinations and interviews – but also to the strong relationships we enjoy with many senior schools.
Our admissions process is designed to be as easy as possible, with our team guiding families through every step. Our dedicated, passionate staff are highly skilled in the art of teaching, and exceptional staff retention allows for special bonds to form between children and teachers, creating a truly happy school environment.
From age 3 to 11, we will support your child through every stage of their education, fostering confidence and a genuine love for learning that sets them on the path to success.
In the Early Years, a topic-based curriculum covers a broad range of Humanities while laying foundations in English, Maths, and language.
In the Lower House, pupils receive a thorough grounding in core subjects including Literacy, Numeracy, the Arts, Humanities, and Sports.
Children in the Upper House study History, Science, Geography, Art, and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic education) and receive specialist teaching in ICT, Music, and Drama.
Pupils enjoy up to four hours of PE and sport each week, in addition to 40 minutes of exercise at lunchtime, with access to the garden in Charterhouse Square.
Our unique central location in the City of London cultivates a family-like atmosphere, where children and teachers are on a first-name basis, and there is no school uniform, allowing pupils to express their individuality. Our newly expanded building features light and airy classrooms, dedicated spaces for Drama and Music, and a roof terrace on the top floor, offering exciting learning opportunities for all year groups.
The new dining room serves a range of excellent hot lunches, while our Breakfast Club and Club House provide extended care from 8am to 6pm, with a variety of activities and snacks. For working parents, we also run a Holiday Club during most school holidays to support childcare needs.
At Charterhouse Square School, we celebrate individuality while fostering a strong sense of togetherness. We instil confidence that prepares our pupils for life beyond our doors, paving the way for success at leading senior schools.
