Charterhouse Square School has a character and ethos all of its own.

We are known for our academic success – and that is a source of great pride to us – but we care more about the safe, nurturing environment that makes this success possible. We follow a curriculum designed to ensure that every class is operating a year ahead of expected for their age group.
Year after year, we are proud to see our children secure places at some of the most prestigious schools in the Capital – with many winning scholarships and exhibitions.

This is a testament not only to the excellent preparation that we provide – for both examinations and interviews – but also to the strong relationships we enjoy with many senior schools.

The admissions process is designed to be as easy as possible, and we will happily guide you every step of the way.

Our staff are incredibly passionate, dedicated and highly skilled in the art of teaching. Staff retention is exceptional, reflecting what a happy place our school is and allowing some very special bonds to form between the children and staff

From age 3 through to 11, we will support your child through every stage of their education. Children who join our independent school develop confidence and gain a genuine love for learning, putting them on the path to success.

A topic-based approach to the curriculum in the Early Years allows us to cover a broad range of Humanities subjects while also laying foundations in English, Maths and language.

In the Lower House the curriculum is designed to give all our children a thorough grounding in the core subjects of Literacy and Numeracy as well as the Arts, Humanities and Sport.

Children in the Upper House study History, Science, Geography, Art and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education). They also receive specialist teaching in ICT, Music and Drama.

We play around three times as much as state school primaries. Our children enjoy up to four hours of PE and sport each week – and that’s on top of 40 minutes of exercise they get at lunchtime when we are permitted to use the garden in Charterhouse Square.

We cultivate a family atmosphere with no school uniforms and strong, first-name basis, relationships between teachers and pupils - all in our unique central location in the City of London.

With our newly expanded building we have light and airy classrooms, dedicated spaces for Drama and Music, and a Roof Terrace on the top floor providing exciting learning opportunities for all our year groups.

The new dining room offers an excellent selection of hot lunches, while our Breakfast Club and Club House offer extended care from 8am to 6pm with a range of activities and snacks. We run a Holiday Club for most of the school holidays to help our working parents manage their childcare arrangements.

At Charterhouse Square School, we are determined to help every child develop courage, honesty, kindness, and confidence.
We believe these are the core values to help children succeed in a competitive world. As such, we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional pastoral care offering.
