Ashbourne College is based in Kensington in the heart of the capital, and remains one of the best sixth form colleges in the UK. Ashbourne has maintained an A*-A average of around 47% for 10 years. More than 50% of its students progress to to Russell Group universities each year, including Cambridge and Oxford; the most popular university destination being UCL.

Ashbourne’s success lies largely in the high degree of individual attention given to students. In addition to its small classes of around 7, Ashbourne also operates a personal tutoring system which provides excellent pastoral care from a member of staff whom the students meets with for two hours a week. These sessions include support on things like revision techniques, note-taking and university applications.

In their final year they will also be given further personalised support with the complex process of applying to university through UCAS. Ashbourne offers different pathway programmes for Medical School, Engineering, Oxbridge, Art and Finance. These programmes run alongside A levels at no extra cost to ensure that student’s maximise their success for these particularly selective university courses. The aim is to help the students to gain better knowledge about what the universities are looking for and what are expected of an applicant.

Ashbourne’s main focus is A-level studies so the majority of their students' are aged 16-19, but they also offer GCSE courses as well as compressed A-Level courses. With 60% of the student body being British, Ashbourne is also lucky to welcome students from overseas, making for a diverse cohort of over 40 different nationalities. Whilst the college has a dynamic and diverse cohort, the atmosphere is very social and it is very easy for new students to make friends.

Ashbourne is a day school so those coming from overseas or outside London will have the option of staying in student hostels or host families. The college provides a list of accommodation options at which their students have stayed before.
