Mrs Alison Fleming  has been Headmistress at Newton Prep since September 2013.

Educated at grammar school, Alison read Theology at Nottingham University, before working for the National Coal Board. She began her teaching career learning her ‘craft’ in state schools, before becoming the Director of Studies at a Prep School in Hampshire. She then came to London as the Deputy Head of Highgate Junior school before making the move south of the river and becoming the Head of Dulwich College Junior School. Alison is a local school governor, sits on the advisory board of a national magazine and is an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. She is passionate about the 'core business' of teaching and learning.
