United World Schools

United World School (UWS) is delighted to be partnered with the Independent Schools Show. There are many synergies between this impressive show and UWS, for one, we both believe in the power of education to change lives. This year, to mark the historic 10 year anniversary of the show, proceeds from the event will go towards building a brand new UWS School for a remote community in Northern Cambodia. This school will give children from the community access to an education for the very first time, transforming their educational and vocational opportunities.

There is more information about the charity below, but from everyone at UWS, thank you for attending the Independent Schools Show. Your attendance will enable us to build a school, train local teachers and provide a basic education to 300 children by the time of next year's show. Thank you.

United World Schools (UWS) is a registered UK charity that aims to 'teach the unreached', providing education to out-of-school children who cannot access a meaningful alternative. Our model is simple:
We only work where we are wanted and needed
We work with communities to ensure all children go to school, not just boys
We train and develop local people to be teachers
We pair local staff with government trained teachers, providing a link to the national system
We build a toilet and safe water source next to each of our schools, dramatically reducing infant mortality
Once built, each of our schools is partnered with a school in the UK or overseas
To date, we have built nearly 60 UWS Schools and educated 10,000 previously out-of-school children across remote regions of Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal. Where we build a school, children live longer, healthier lives and are able to access new opportunities and fulfil their potential.

Schools in the UK and overseas play a key role in ensuring the sustainability of our schools. They form a 1:1 relationship with their UWS School, fundraising to maintain and develop it, whilst having the opportunity to visit and see first-hand the impact of their philanthropy.

We work with a number of amazing school partners, including many at the show today: The Alpha Plus Group, Eton College, Sevenoaks School and The King's School, Canterbury.
