Our recent ISI inspection gave the School top rating in every area.
Traditional Values Combined With Innovation At Handcross Park we believe in creating a happy and stimulating environment where children are able to flourish as part of a vibrant and happy community and excel in their academic studies. With excellent, inspiring teaching, we aim to provide a broad and innovative education without losing sight of the importance of traditional values, focusing on kindness, good manners and mutual respect.
10 Core Themes Our ten core themes were developed by both staff and children at the School. They are at the heart of everything we do. They are: Pupil Wellbeing; Academic Excellence and Innovation; Sport and Sportsmanship; Arts and Performance; Thinking and Life Skills; International Awareness and Languages; Outdoor Education; Community Service and Citizenship; Spiritual Life, and The Family. We work hard to ensure that each child is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her own individual potential, both in and out of the classroom.
Our excellent Common Entrance record and outstanding scholarship results are testament to the high quality of teaching we provide, preparing our children for Brighton College and some of the other top senior schools in the country.
We take pride in the pursuit of excellence for all our pupils and we believe ardently in educating children to become well-rounded, compassionate and articulate citizens.
Our facilities Set in 50 acres of Sussex countryside, our facilities include a Music School, ICT Suite, a Sports Hall/Theatre, extensive playing fields, a 6-hole golf course, an indoor swimming pool, an Outdoor Classroom, a Forest School and an Organic Garden complete with chickens and pigs!
Home Away From Home Our Boarding House offers a warm, friendly family environment to both weekly and full boarders who are able to use the on-site facilities during the evenings and weekends. With a capacity of 50 boarders, the Boarding House is located at the heart of the main building of the School. The children have shared social spaces together with individual boys' and girls' common rooms within the separate dormitory areas.
Our Houseparents live within the Boarding House with their family and are helped by a team of House Tutors (who are also teaching staff) and Matron. The children are supported academically and pastorally by our team and this can be an ideal first step for those children who are going on to board at their senior school.
Location Handcross Park is located just south of Gatwick Airport adjacent to the M23, less than an hour from London and close to the towns of Haywards Heath and Horsham.
